Therapy with Haridharani
Service Description
Starting therapy for the first time can feel overwhelming. Doubts, hesitation, and questions often arise—Will this help? Will I be understood? Is it safe to open up? These feelings are natural, and no one has to navigate them alone. The therapeutic space is meant to feel safe, respectful, and supportive, with confidentiality and ethical care at its core. Introducing Haridharani, Trainee Counselling Psychologist. Haridharani is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Counselling Psychology at the Madras School of Social Work, Chennai. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem, where she graduated as a University Gold Medalist and Best Outgoing Student, reflecting both academic excellence and consistent dedication to the field. Haridharani has gained wide-ranging field exposure through internships across clinical, counselling, and community settings. Few of her training includes work at the Psychiatry Department of Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, MAANAS Neurofoundation, Hibiscus Foundation, and Youth Empowerment Services (V Excel, Chennai). Through these experiences, she has engaged in supervised counselling practice and has over 10 hours of counselling experience, along with case discussions, suicide risk assessment, psychological exposure to severe mental health conditions, and engaging in the tailoring of interventions to meet individual client needs under supervision, while also contributing to community outreach and mental health awareness initiatives. In addition to her academic training, Haridharani has completed certification courses and workshops in Transactional Analysis (TA 101), Trauma Release Intervention Skills, Marital Therapy, and Perinatal Mental Health, and has participated in workshops addressing gender-based violence and psychological well-being. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centred, grounded in ethical practice, self-awareness, and respect for each individual’s pace and lived experience. Haridharani values creating a space where people feel heard, validated, and supported as they explore themselves and work toward growth and healing. She is fluent in English and Tamil and works with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and concerns.
